The Vision
Building Capacity. Strengthening Impact.
Powering Our Mission.
At Sussex County Habitat for Humanity, our vision is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home. The ReStore plays a critical role in turning that belief into action — generating unrestricted funding that allows us to respond to housing needs, support families, and sustain our mission across Sussex County.
The Home for Habitat project is a bold, forward-looking investment in our future. By expanding our space and bringing our team together under one roof, we are strengthening the foundation that makes our work possible.
Why This Vision Matters Now
The need for affordable housing in Sussex County continues to grow, and so does the demand for the services we provide. To meet that need, we must ensure our organization is positioned for long-term sustainability.
The ReStore is a proven source of flexible funding — funding that supports home construction, homeownership programs, and community impact where it is needed most. Expanding the ReStore allows us to increase that impact while operating more efficiently and effectively.
This vision is about more than square footage. It’s about readiness — ensuring we can serve more families, adapt to changing needs, and continue building hope for generations to come.

Impact Beyond the Walls
Every improvement to the ReStore directly supports our mission of building homes, communities, and hope. Increased revenue means more opportunities to:
-
Construct safe, affordable homes
-
Support families on their path to homeownership
-
Strengthen neighborhoods throughout Sussex County
-
This expansion ensures that community donations, whether financial contributions or donated goods, create even greater impact.
Impact Beyond the Walls
Through this project, the ReStore retail floor will more than double in size, allowing us to:
-
Increase inventory and revenue
-
Improve the donor and shopper experience
-
Reduce operational constraints that limit growth
In addition, the project will include dedicated office space that enables Sussex County Habitat for Humanity staff to work together in one centralized location — enhancing collaboration, communication, and mission alignment.
By investing in our infrastructure, we are investing in the people and systems that make affordable housing possible in Sussex County.
